Mike Jones Career:
After graduating from college with a bachelor’s degree in business management, Mike spent 15 years working in accounting, budget, and finance in the high tech industry and with various State of Texas agencies including the Department of Public Safety and the Attorney General’s Office.  During that time, Mike formed a small investment partnership to invest in real estate which led him into the real estate profession.  Mike earned his real estate license and initially worked under the brokerage of Capital Area Realty.  In 2006, he moved his license to the brokerage of Stanberry & Associates where he has earned Listing Agent and Sales Agent of the month several times.

Mike has developed a successful career as a top real estate professional.  He has gained a well-deserved reputation for providing outstanding customer service and getting results.   Mike has earned the designations and certifications of Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS, only 4% of realtors have earned), and Graduate of the Realtor Institute (GRI) which give him the education and specialization needed to exceed his client's expectations.

MIKE JONES…PERSONAL:

Born and Raised in Texas:
Mike was born in the small central Texas town of Seguin, about 50 miles Southeast of Austin to Dennis and Louise Jones.  Dennis, originally from Wisconsin, was a career Navy officer, and Louise, originally from Stockdale, Texas, left the Navy to be a stay at home mom.  Growing up in a military family, Mike moved over 10 times, briefly living in Washington D.C., Florida, and Mississippi, but always back to Texas, including Seguin, Austin and San Antonio.

Growing up with two sisters, one brother, twelve uncles & aunts, thirty-one cousins, and loving grandparents, Mike learned the value of family ties and family values.  After graduating from Seguin High School, Mike followed his brother Mark and sister Karen to Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) where he earned his business degree.  While there he met and later married his wife, Gwen, in 1985.

Family First:
Since 1987, Mike and Gwen have called Southwest Austin home where they enjoy all that life has to offer including raising their two children, Nicholas and Rachel.  They believe in commitment to family, faith, friends, and community.  Mike's positive outlook on life is revealed in his mottos of, "It doesn’t matter what happens to you in life, it’s what you do about it that counts” and “Carpe Diem” which means seize the day.  Mike raises his children with the same appreciation for the importance of family and the traditional values that have been the foundation of his success in life.

They enjoy soccer, boating, fishing, skiing, swimming, bowling, movies, and board games, plus watching football, basketball, & baseball.  Mike also enjoys running and has been a yearly participant in the Capital 10K, and in 2002 ran in and finished the Motorola Marathon.  Between family time, church activities, scouts, soccer practice & games, and visiting friends, it's never a dull moment at the Jones' house.  On weekends during soccer season, you’ll find them at the Austin United Capital Soccer Club or Lonestar Soccer Club fields, and during the week at the Clint Small Middle School and James Bowie High School soccer games.  And of course there is “Daisy” their loyal Shetland sheepdog and “Trout” (yes after the fish) their active Papillon.
